Poetry as Philosophy

When contemplating the world and seeking understanding, both philosophers and poets play important roles. However, it is necessary to determine which one holds greater significance in today's world, considering the current state of philosophy and the contrasting nature of prose and poetry. This question extends beyond mere curiosity about previous generations. In today's society, it is unusual for a philosopher to express their thoughts in the form of verse, and poets may find this approach bothersome. Prose has emerged as the dominant mode of philosophical expression, while poets perceive prose-based thinking as uninspiring compared to poetry. Nevertheless, poets value philosophy and believe that poetry serves as a more universally relatable means of introspection.
